The non-physical health-span tests
The Sleep Test
Can you sleep seven hours and wake up without needing to "recover" from your own bed?
Sleep doesn't get the same headline treatment as strength training, but it's foundational to nearly everything else on this list — tissue repair, metabolic regulation, cognitive function, even next-day balance and coordination. If your sleep is consistently short or broken, it's often the highest-leverage place to start, before adding anything else to your routine.
Sleep is the weak link? Fix your sleep schedule before you fix your diet or your workout plan. It underpins both. We happen to have several blogs on sleep but check out this one for a good overview https://www.korewellness.com/blog/healthy-aging-for-the-hectic-life-part-4-establishing-a-quality-sleep-wake-cycle
The Memory Test
Can you remember what you read or watched yesterday, without real effort?
Cognitive healthspan is just as real as physical healthspan, and it's arguably the one people fear losing the most. It's also one of the clearest examples of how healthspan and lifespan diverge — someone can be alive and physically mobile for decades while losing the cognitive clarity that made those years feel like their years.
Memory feels foggier than it used to? Aerobic exercise and quality sleep are still the two best-supported levers here — more so than any supplement on the market.
Keep in mind
None of this requires optimizing every metric of your life. It just requires paying honest attention to a few things you're already doing every day — and treating what you notice as useful information, not something to ignore until it becomes a problem.
